Chapter 6

Markers of Good … or Bad Health

“Grandma, why are your teeth so long?”

By now hopefully you have figured out my pattern of linking how the body works and what your influence is as the person in charge of it. I have always been motivated by understanding. The more I understand, the more I can picture the best possible outcome and program myself for it. We all carry so much information that has been programmed in us almost without exception. It can be difficult sometimes to distinguish between our own opinions or what we are pushed to believe by the media, society, culture, and even language. When I started to seriously study health, I traveled to seminars, master classes, courses, and conventions. The more I learned, the better I felt. I had changed my lifestyle and I really could feel the difference. I am a positive person by nature, but I knew over time I had slowly started to settle in small ways, compromising my body and health. Those small compromises can become large problems down the road. Once I understood more about food, my own body, and my genetics, it became easier to look for ways to feel better and better.

There are a few markers in the body that have been shown to be linked to our ability to heal. One such marker is our teeth. Each one of our teeth sits on a meridian line, or energy line running along our bodies. If there is problem, or interruption of the energy flow through your body, you will begin to show signs. Dental health is incredibly important. In 1923, Dr. Weston Price wrote 1,174 pages, two volumes, on research that took about twenty-five years to complete. His research was on a very high percentage of chronic degenerative diseases that could potentially originate from root filled teeth. In 1915, the American Dental Association appointed Dr. Price as their first Research Director. His advisory board represented fields of bacteriology, pathology, rheumatology, surgery, chemistry, and cardiology. Dr. Price was proving his theory on focal infections. The focal infection theory asserts that germs from a central focal infection, like teeth, roots, gums, even tonsils, could metastasize to hearts, eyes, kidneys, lungs, and other organs. Even glands and tissues could be affected. This was new and radical information at the time, but now has been proved and demonstrated over the years.

About seventy years ago the American Dental Association buried this information, affecting dentistry ever since.

Today most people, doctors, and patients, believe that infections are less dangerous since we now have antibiotics. Here is the problem with that line of thinking. A root filled tooth no longer has a direct blood supply. A root canal is essentially the absence of a root. The tooth is removed with its root, then replaced with a substitute. This can be done in different ways. What is important to understand is when a root is removed, the tooth itself is considered a dead tooth. It is no longer connected to a blood supply and stands on its own as dead tissue.
